Low Velocity Impact Collisions

ICBC has a policy for claims they consider to have minimal damage. It’s called the Low Velocity Impact Program. This policy is based on the concept that a car accident occurring at low speeds resulting damage less than $1,000, is not a serious enough accident to produce injuries.

After an ICBC adjuster processes your claim and deems that it fits within their Low Velocity Impact Program, the report will be reviewed by an ICBC committee. If the committee determines the car accident fits the policy’s criteria, the injury claim will not be accepted.

Be forewarned that ICBC’s Low Velocity Impact Program is just a scheme that they have developed to discourage claims. However, if you were injured by the fault of another person, you have a claim. Your claim depends on the extent of your injuries, not on the vehicle’s damage.

If you have been denied compensation by ICBC based on the fact that your accident is considered a Low Velocity Impact collision, call us. You still have the right to seek compensation through the courts. We will tell you what to do and we won’t charge you a thing. We hate to see people taken advantage of by ICBC.
